Happy American New Year!
For Christmas I got a copy of Paradise Kiss vol. 2 manga and my dear SO ordered me Berserk vol. 1 and 2 anime. Woohoo! I got other stuff too but those were some of the coolest gifts.

I found a copy of Berserk vol. 6: God's Hand at the video store and watched it last night for New Year's celebrating. OMG. So /very/ cool. In keeping with the rest of the series, it was uber gory and managed to top itself with the violent content and show-stopping surprises. Unfortunately my favorite character also dies in this volume. Waaaaaaaah! But apart from that, a great continuation. I may have to go ahead and read forward in the manga to ease my need to know what happens!

While I was at it, I updated a whole bunch of things here. I added some free downloads to the dollz section and fixed the broken links in the game reviews area. Took out the Bravenet poll on the Fun page because it started throwing out popups. I pay to keep my space popup free; I don't want someone else's clutter.

Yesterday my nephew told my Yu-Gi-Oh! was nothing but a bad Pokémon rip-off. I laughed, derisively even. Then proceeded to tell him why it wasn't. He seemed surprised I should care, and I think this overshadowed any of his absorbing why they were different. *sigh* Oh, well. I did my best.
My oldest kid's gotten into Magic Knight Rayearth. I gave it a shot but it's too bubble-gum for me. I've been keeping to the manga GNs I've been checking out from the library, mostly. In the last week I read Mars 7, a couple of Ranma 1/2s, tried to read I.N.V.U. and couldn't. Umm.. ParaKiss, Cowboy Bebop, Redmoon... I'm trying to get into Marmalade Boy. Few others. I my library. I updated the manga section with a Berserk review.

I joined a local anime club! The kidlet and I are officially 'in'. The club's doing the anime room at two local and upcoming conventions. One they get free badges too so I'm most likely going to go to that, provided life doesn't throw any weird curveballs. Other things in the works is a cosplay and Anime Expo. I won't be going to that due to RL contraints (budget, kids) but someday...

Happy New Year! No updates just yet to the site. Just wanted to say that we're in the new house now and most everything is (mostly) in its place now. Baby's been sick and we've all been making the transition to a new area. Car broke down and.. well. If you want the real low-down, just head to the 'Sprawl (link located to the right). When things are back into something more like a routine I'll be doing more regular updates again. I've got some cool images to share and some other fun stuff.

Whew. Halloween sure was a bundle of chaos. Having a clingy baby sure hampers the ability to do anything productive. That aside, now that things have settled a little, I put in a little update. I finally got the long-promised Neopets pics up. Nothing to get excited about; there's only 3. But it's better than nothing, right? :)

Ack! Zonkboard's gone pay! Well. I don't rely on the service so I can't see paying for it. So. I've removed it from my site. Maybe I'll pick up another interactive when I have time. It's Halloween season and I have a lot of family things to do over the next couple of months so I won't be updating any of my websites for a bit. This isn't goodbye (it never is - I've been through this cycle online for over 8 years now), just a hiatus for the holidays. When I return I'll be sharing a bunch of Sims anime skins I've created and have been using. Can we say 'Yu-Gi-Oh!' and 'Final Fantasy'?

Showed the kidlet Grave of the Fireflies for the first time. Although I'd told her the story, and told her how sad it was, she was still surprised. I think it was her first real sad story for the sake of sadness. I remember the first one I encountered at age 10: a book called Sassafrass, about a dog that was abandoned and taken to the pound. Told from the dog's point of view, it tracked his stay there, faithfully believing his owners would return for him right up to the end when he was euthanized. Traumatic.

I've got an 8 year old and a 6 month old so free time is very limited for now. Oh! I also got the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga review done too. I'm not doing so bad after all. :)

I got two new Anime reviews posted (Wicked City and Yu-Gi-Oh!), stripped a javascript I decided I didn't like from all the review pages, bolded the links text in the stylesheet (What do you think of it?), put a survey into the Fun section along with a quizlet, installed a script on the Art page that searches a HUGE database for images and scans from your favorite anime series... oh. And added a bunch of miscellaneous links here and there to cool sites I've found along with some other odds-n-ends. I should go to bed now.

Welcome to the new look of Amai! Although I really liked my last interface layout (love the baaaaall), the content here has grown to the point where a new layout was sorely needed. I put it off as long as I possibly could but finally had to change it. I'm really happy with this one, though. The code took a lot of fussing-with to get right; it's actually 3 pages in one, without using frames! 'Berserk Forces' features the Hawks from the series 'Berserk', my new favorite anime and soon-to-be favorite manga. Gotta love Griffith; resistance is futile.
